This wonderful print is part of a set that was framed in lovely wooden frames with gold detailing. A beautiful and historic moment captured here. The colours are rich and bold and very well preserved.

The top of the print describes ‘The Reinforcements for Canada Passing Through New Brunswick: Arrival of a Detachment of the 63rd Regiment at the Temporary Barracks, Petersville.’ The bottom of the print describes ‘The Reinforcements for Canada Passing Through New Brunswick: A Portion of the 63rd Regiment Crossing Nerepis Valley.’

The top image on the print shows the Officer’s Quarters, the Cook House and the Soldiers’ Barracks. The bottom image shows soldiers in a horse and sleigh with flags above. The center flag reads ‘God Save our Noble Queen and her Brave Army’.

The print has been taken from The Illustrated London News from March 29, 1862. The print was on page 306.

The frame measures 21 ¼” x 17 ¼” with the area of the print itself showing measuring 14 ½” x 9 ¾”. There is some movie wear around the edges of the print which aren’t very noticeable. Sold as is.
